Known for her candid nature, National Award-winning actor Parvathy Thiruvothu recently opened up about her personal life, relationships, and struggles with mental health.

In a heartfelt conversation, she shared how her past emotional battles affected her ability to maintain a relationship with someone she deeply valued.

In an interview with Filmfare, Parvathy recalled a significant relationship from her past that ended due to her personal struggles. At the time, she was grappling with mental health issues that impacted her emotions and eating habits, often leading to outbursts of anger. Unfortunately, this took a toll on her relationship with a “wonderful person,” eventually leading to their separation. Years later, she reconnected with him and apologised for how things unfolded.

“That experience taught me to be more mindful before entering a relationship,” she said.

Despite past relationships, Parvathy maintains amicable ties with her exes while ensuring clear personal boundaries. She clarified that while she has dated individuals from the film industry, she has never been romantically involved with actors or directors. Instead, her relationships have been with people from the technical side of filmmaking.

Having been single for the past three years, Parvathy values deep emotional connections over fleeting romantic encounters.

While she has experimented with dating apps, Parvathy remains hesitant about fully embracing them. She finds the concept of swiping through potential partners unappealing, likening it to “buying” people for relationships. Though she occasionally checks these platforms, she prefers keeping her accounts deactivated.

“I believe in love that develops naturally, after truly getting to know a person. Ideally, it would be great if they were from the same field,” she shared.
