Malayalam actress Manju Warrier has announced the withdrawal of her film 'Chathur Mukham' from theatres following the restrictions put in place by the state and central government to curb the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

"We want to thank family audiences for the enthusiastic response to Chathur Mukham in theatres; it has been beyond our expectations," the actress penned on social media. "Most of the shows were running to 'full house' under the COVID conditions. But we are sad to announce that we are forced to temporarily withdraw the film from theatres. Once the COVID situation is under control, we will bring it back. Please follow government regulations on safety."

The latest Malayalam star to recover from COVID-19 is Tovino Thomas, one amongst the long list of celebrities and film-field workers who have contracted the virus. The FEFKA association has said that theatre owners can decide whether to remain open or not, but with Kerala crossing 25,000 cases a day, many stars are pulling their releases out of theatres and postponing release.
