I prioritize good stories and challenging roles, says Shraddha Kapoor
text_fieldsBollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor, who is enjoying the success of her recent film Stree 2, has shed light on why she hasn't worked with the iconic trio of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, or Aamir Khan.
In a candid conversation with Shubhankar Mishra during a podcast, Shraddha revealed that while she has received offers to work with these superstars, she turned them down for various reasons.
Shraddha explained that her decision to decline these opportunities was driven by her commitment to choosing roles that truly excite and challenge her as an artist. "Often, you're offered a film, but if the character doesn't seem engaging enough or fails to push your artistic boundaries, you have to let it go. I'm very clear about the type of work I want to do," Shraddha shared.
The actress emphasized that her primary focus is on being part of films with compelling stories and working with talented directors. "I want to be involved in good films, films that are engaging and have strong narratives. If that also means getting to work with renowned actors or big stars, I'm happy to say yes, but it’s not my main criteria," she added.
Meanwhile, Stree 2 has become a major box office hit, earning significant figures within its first week.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, the horror-comedy raked in an estimated Rs 255.35 crore in India during the first six days and continued its strong performance with an additional Rs 20 crore on the seventh day, bringing the total to an impressive Rs 275.35 crore in just one week, according to Sacnilk.
The film, featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is a sequel to the 2018 hit Stree and is part of Dinesh Vijan's horror-comedy universe, which also includes Roohi, Bhediya, and Munjya. The film continues the eerie tale set in the town of Chanderi, now threatened by the mysterious Sarkata.
Stree 2 was released on August 15 and faced competition from Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa at the box office. However, it has managed to outshine its rivals in terms of box office performance.
