Warner Bros. Discovery streaming and gaming chief, J.B. Perrette, has announced that the second season of "House Of The Dragon" is scheduled to premiere in June.

While the exact release date is yet to be revealed, the confirmation was made during an interview at Morgan Stanley's Technology, Media, and Telecom conference.

The "Game of Thrones" spinoff, based on George RR Martin's book "Fire & Blood," explores the Targaryen dynasty's history on the fictional continent of Westeros. Set nearly 200 years before the events in "Game of Thrones" and approximately 100 years after the Targaryens united the Seven Kingdoms, the series follows the intricate political and familial dynamics of the Targaryen rulers.

The returning cast for the second season includes Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D'Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Rhys Ifans, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham.

Additionally, new cast members Abubakar Salim, Gayle Rankin, Freddie Fox, and Simon Russell Beale have been announced.

The first season, consisting of 10 episodes, aired from August 21 to October 23, 2022. Notably, HBO renewed "House Of The Dragon" for a second season just one week after its series premiere, citing the show's impressive ratings.

The upcoming season is highly anticipated by fans of the "Game of Thrones" universe, eager to delve deeper into the rich history and complex characters of House Targaryen.
