‘Dhurandhar’ enters history books: Ranveer Singh starrer beats ‘Pathaan’, becomes 7th highest-grossing Indian film
text_fieldsMumbai: Ranveer Singh’s action thriller Dhurandhar continues its historic run, storming past the Rs 1,050-crore mark globally in just 24 days. By the end of its fourth Sunday, December 28, the film had amassed a worldwide gross of Rs 1,064 crore, officially becoming the seventh-highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
With this latest surge, the Aditya Dhar directorial has overtaken the lifetime collections of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (Rs 1,055 crore) and Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD (Rs 1,042 crore). The film delivered a massive fourth weekend, collecting Rs 62 crore, with Sunday alone contributing over Rs 30 crore globally.
At the domestic box office, Dhurandhar has recorded a net collection of Rs 690.25 crore (gross Rs 828.25 crore) according to trade figures. Analysts predict the film will cross the Rs 700-crore net mark in India within days. The film’s performance has been bolstered by strong overseas numbers, particularly during the Christmas holiday window, with international earnings now crossing $26 million.
While Dhurandhar now sets its sights on the records of Jawan, KGF Chapter 2, and RRR, the all-time list remains topped by Dangal, Baahubali 2, and Pushpa 2. Notably, this is only the second Hindi release this year, following the dubbed version of Pushpa 2, to post such significant domestic numbers.
The film features Ranveer Singh as Hamza, an Indian operative infiltrating terror networks in Karachi, alongside an ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and R Madhavan. Capitalizing on this massive success, a sequel, Dhurandhar: Part 2, is reportedly scheduled for release in March 2026.
