Comedian Trevor Noah cancels Bluru shows over bad acoustics; fans furious
cancel

US comedian and host Trevor Noah has cancelled his first-ever performance in Bengaluru citing technical issues, much to the dismay of his fans.

The Emmy-winning comedian also issued an online apology and promised a refund for all those who had paid for the ticket.

Renowned for his insightful take on global politics and current affairs, the former host of "The Daily Show," kickstarted the Indian leg of his 'Off The Record' tour in Delhi on September 23, where the show was a resounding success.

However, the Bengaluru show hit a setback as his audience could not reach his much-anticipated show in the Silicon Valley of India.

The show was expected to begin at 7.30 pm on September 27 but it began nearly 30 minutes late. The show then ended abruptly after many audience members couldn't hear anything because of ''bad acoustics.''

Fans who had braved the Bengaluru traffic were left fuming after the show got cancelled and blamed the organizers for the mismanagement.

Frustrated fans who had braved the Bengaluru's traffic were left fuming when the show was cancelled and blamed the organizers for their poor handling of the situation.

Many complained about problems with parking, inadequate air conditioning, the crowded venue, and congested roads.

Netizens were quick to take to micro-blogging platform ‘X’ to express their disappointment with the event.

Some resorted to selling their tickets because they were stuck in traffic.

“#TrevorNoah tickets for the show tonight at 7:30 Anyone want 2 tickets? ₹6500, selling for ₹5000 each. Friend can’t make it as she is stuck in the crazy ORR traffic ! If you live next to Manyata .. best”, tweeted a user.

“International bezzati karwa li Bangalore ne #trevornoah" added another.

“I'd been deeply missing Bangalore for the last couple of weeks... but now I'm cured after seeing a hilariously sad number of people trying to sell their #TrevorNoah tickets because they're stuck in traffic and can't make it. If this ain't @peakbengaluru ..." quipped another X user.

“Looks like Bengaluru has given Trevor Noah enough standup content for the rest of his life" quipped another.

"Dear Bengaluru India, I was so looking forward to performing in your amazing city but due to technical issues we’ve been forced to cancel both shows.

We tried everything but because the audience can’t hear the comedians on stage there’s literally no way to do a show. We’ll make sure all ticket holders receive a full refund and again I’m so sorry for both the inconvenience and disappointment this has never happened to us before," Trevor Noah wrote on ‘X’.

Noah was scheduled to perform live at Manpho Convention Centre in Bengaluru on September 27 and 28, and finally at the NSCI Dome in Mumbai on September 30 and October 1.
