Kochi: The Kerala Forest Development Corporation (KFDC) is the most recent state government organisation to partner with Flipkart by signing an MoU with the e-commerce giant to promote diverse forest goods. Kerala Khadi and Village Industries Board recently partnered with Flipkart to sell khadi goods on the online marketplace. The 'Vanopahar' tag will allow buyers from all around the world to purchase KFDC products. The MoU was inked, according to A K Saseendran, Minister of Forests, as part of efforts to sell and promote forest products.

"These products are brought in by the Vanasamrakshana Samithi. The products are collected by KFDC, which then markets it," he said. "Tying up with Flipkart will open up a wider market for various forest produce. For example, sandalwood oil. The sandalwood oil produced in Kerala is of the top quality in the world. A 2 gm bottle of sandalwood oil sells for Rs 1,600," he said.
