Rome: A large part of the US experienced ‘ dangerously high temperatures’ on Saturday, while weather agency warned of even greater level of heat at the weekend.
From California to Texas millions of people struggled in the usually sweltering heat as the US National Weather Service warned of ‘ extremely hot and dangerous weekend, news agency AFP reported.
Heat highs were forecast to hover between 10 and 20 degrees Fahrenheit, quite above normal in the west.

In Arizona heat highs were recorded at 43 degrees Celsius meaning above 109F with it racing to 111F on Saturday.
The weather forecasts predict that it is highly likely to climb to scorching 115F.

The midday temperatures on Sunday reached 48 C, which stayed at 38 C marking the overnight lows.
