Moscow: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow's military invasion of Ukraine is to stop the United States dominated world order, IANS reported.
In an interview aired by a Russian TV on Monday, he alleged that Washington has been pursuing supremacy by imposing ad hoc rules and violating international law. "Our special military operation is meant to put an end to the unabashed expansion (of NATO) and the unabashed drive towards full domination by the US and its Western subjects on the world stage," he said.
This domination is built on gross violations of international law and under some rules, which they are now hyping so much and which they make up on a case-by-case basis," he added.
Lavrov was referring to US's attempts to impose its own so-called "rules-based international order", IANS reported. It was vehemently opposed by Russia and China.
Lavrov further said that Russia is among those nations that would never fall to the US's will. His country will be part of an international community of "equals" and will never allow the West to ignore its security concerns, he stated
Further, he slammed European Union foreign policy head Josep Borrell for the latter's statement that conflict "will be won on the battlefield". Borell had also announced more military aid to Kyiv. Lavrov called Borrell's statement outrageous.
