Trump calls rape allegation by writer Carroll ‘the most ridiculous story’

New York: The former US President Donald Trump told a Manhattan federal jury via a disposition video that he had not raped writer E. Jean Carroll.

Trump’s denial comes a day after another woman, Jessica Leeds, testifying in the case, alleged that the former president had sexually assaulted her on a flight in 1970s.

Now Trump, who is running for 2024 Republican nomination, as ever defended himself in the civil trial court without personally testifying, Reuters reported.

In the video Trump is reportedly heard saying that ‘It's the most ridiculous, disgusting story,’ adding that ‘it’s just made up.’

In his previous disposition in October 2022 Trump denied raping her a decade ago in the dressing room of a department store in New York City, according to the report.

Trump’s legal team told the court on Tuesday they will not be calling any witnesses for the trial which is expected to continue next week.

In her civil suit, Carroll alleges that Trump raped her in the mid-1990s and subsequently defamed her claiming on his Truth Social platform that her case was ‘Hoax and a lie’.

The former Elle magazine advice columnist told cross-examination that Trump in either 1995 or 1996 ‘slammed her against the wall’ and ‘put his fingers into her vagina and then inserted his penis.’

Trump said Carroll made up the story for the sales of her 2019 memoir where she made her claims public.

Two more women also testified, alleging that Trump sexually assaulted them decades ago.

Natasha Stoynoff, former reporter of People magazine, told the court on Wednesday that Trump had forcibly kissed her in 2005 at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida until a butler ‘interrupted the alleged assault’, according to the report.

Jessica Leeds on Tuesday accused Trump of trying to kiss her, and groping her and putting his hand up her skirt on a flight in New York in 1979.
