Three employees lose jobs for coming to office unvaccinated in CNN

CNN has terminated the employment of three people for coming to work without being vaccinated against Covid-19. The company had issued a memo saying vaccination is mandatory to report to the office and interact with other employees.

The firm did not release the details on the individuals fired and their locations.

The president of CNN, Jeff Zucker said that the company has a zero-tolerance policy on the matter. CNN reported Oliver Darcy had also tweeted the contents of the memo, reported The Guardian.

Most of CNN's offices are open on a voluntary basis and over a third of news staff members have returned to work. The memo says that the management is postponing the company-wide return to offices from September 7 to mid-October. Amid the surge in Covid-19 cases in the US, many media companies are making similar decisions.

The CNN leader declared that staff is required to wear masks in the offices in Atlanta, Washington, and Los Angeles. He added that even in offices where a mask is mandatory, people can wear a mask without fear of retaliation or judgment from co-workers.

Google, Facebook, and Uber are among the many companies in Silicon Valley that have made vaccination mandatory to return to offices. All government workers in New York and California also have received the same instruction.
