Sharif family paid a woman to write book against me: Imran Khan

Islamabad: Ex-Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan alleged that the Sharif family employed a woman on payroll, making a veiled reference to his ex-wife Reham Khan, to write a book against him during the 2018 general elections in the country. Imran said that the mafia he once again on the track of his character assassination and might release something ahead of Eid, IANS reported, citing Express Tribune. This was Imran's first reference to the book since its publication and that too at a public meeting in Multan.

He then spoke about his first wife, Jemima Goldsmith. He said that she had to go through court cases and suffer allegations of being a member of the Jewish lobby by the Sharif mafia.

Days before the elections in 2018, Reham Khan had published a controversial memoir. There were claims that the book was published to tarnish Imran's political reputation, but he became the Prime Minister that year.

Imran said that for those who attempt assassinating his character, he has a message that he will fight them as long as he is alive.

Later he accused incumbent Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of allowing the most number of encounters during his term as Chief Minister of Punjab province.

Further, he said that in the last three decades, mafias had threatened and pressurised people to make things done. But he will continue speaking against mafias, he added.
