Sexual abuse of minor: US lady teacher arrested in New Jersey

New Jersey: The US police arrested a special education teacher of an intermediate school here for alleged sexual relationship with a minor student, NDTV reported.

The sexual offence accused, identified as 43-year-old Allison Havemann-Niedrach, who was a teacher at Freehold Intermediate School, was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault and endangerment of the welfare of a child, NDTV reported, citing Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S Santiago.

The New York Post reported that the accused was arrested earlier this week following an investigation that revealed the alleged crime she started earlier this year. When authorities do not reveal how the crime came out, how many times she committed the assault or what the alleged victim's age was, the Freehold Intermediate School admits students from grade 6 to grade 8.

Accused Allison is currently lodged in Monmouth County jail in Freehold Township.

Allison's LinkedIn profile suggests that she is a special education teacher who started at Freehold Intermediate School in March 2022. She has been working as a teacher or a substitute teacher since 2008 and has worked in several schools before, her profile says.

The accused's attorney said that she "maintains her innocence" but refused to comment further.

In April, there was another news of police arresting a teacher in Arkansas for alleged sexual abuse of a teenager she met in a church.

The New York Post reported that the teacher, identified as 26-year-old Reagan Gray, was arrested after she allegedly abused a 15-year-old while volunteering at the Little Rock Immanuel Baptist Church in 2020.

Court documents say that the survivor's parents reported the teacher to a senior pastor at the church after they came to notice several text messages on their son's phone. The investigation on the matter revealed that she "bombarded" his phone with several nude pictures. The accused was chatting with the survivor on Snapchat.
