In Afghanistan, 79 percent of journalists have lost their jobs and have resorted to other professions to make money to survive, according to the Journalists Foundation of Afghanistan.
Over the past one and a half months, the Foundation assessed the lives of Afghan journalists and determined that they were living the hardest life because of the fragile economic situation.
Up to 75 percent of Afghan media outlets have closed due to financial problems prior to that, according to the report.
The Foundation found that 91% of Afghan journalists are satisfied with their choice of profession, while only 8% are unhappy with it.
In all, 462 Afghan journalists were surveyed, and there were 390 males and 72 females. The Foundation has asked the International Community and the Taliban government in Afghanistan to address the economic conditions of the Afghan journalists.
