Kyiv: Raining down fire and smoke, Russian forces advanced further into the South eastern city of Mariupol laying to waste vast swaths of land, according to reports today.
The centre of grain trade, metallurgy and heavy engineering witnessed unimaginable military action as Russian forces intensified attack battering the port city. Earlier today AP reported of the closure of a major steel plant in the area following heavy fighting on Saturday. Left to fender for themselves with next nothing on, local authorities requested help from Europe and other major forces.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk said a total of 6,623 people including 4,128 from Marupol were evacuated along 8 humanitarian corridors on Saturday from many besieged cities as part of the continuing evacuation drive. Those from Mariupol were taken northwest to Zaporizhzhia.
Mariupol's city council accused Russian forces of forcefully deporting from the city thousands of people last week.
Signaling again at Russia furthering its attack, seven people were killed in a Russian mortar attack on the town of Makariv in the Kyiv.
Among the continuing heavy bombardment, pulverizing Ukraine, Russia's defence ministry reported of using hypersonic Kinzhal missiles on the nation, as well as adding that Ukraine's military reconnaissance cetnres have been destroyed in the attack.
A seven-member American delegation visiting Poland said that Ukraine most urgently needed to be equipped against Russian invasion as well as supporting the country in every way to defend its independence.
