Punjab-origin gangster in Canada shot dead after leaving a wedding party

Ottawa: A 28-year-old Punjab-origin man was shot dead at a wedding venue in Vancouver city of Canada on Sunday morning.

The man, identified as Amarpreet (Chucky), was on the Canadian police's most violent gangsters' list.

Police are investigating the details while it is still not known who is behind the murder at Fraserview Banquet Hall.

After spending less than 30 minutes on dance floor with other wedding guests, Amarpreet Samara left the hall and was shot on Fraser Street between just before 1:30 am.

Samra arrived at the wedding with his gangster brother Ravinder, both of whom are known to be part of notorious UN Gang.

A few guests related the incident of some unidentified men entering the hall and yelling at DJ to stop music.

Vancouver Police announced that they are investigating the murder of the man.

‘Multiple 9-1-1 callers reported one man had been shot outside a South Vancouver banquet hall near Fraser Street and South East Marine Drive at 1:30 a.m. Patrol officers performed CPR on the victim until paramedics arrived, but he died from his injuries,’ the statement read.

Police reportedly believe that it was a targeted shooting and requested public to share any details of the incident.

In August 2022, police released a list of 11 men, of which nine are Punjab origin including Amarpreet and his brother Ravinder, for extreme level of gang violence.

The police warned the public to avoid being near them.
