Islamabad: Paksitan's Supreme Court has ordered for restoration of a temple that was vandalized by miscreant mobs, Hindustan Times reported.
Pakistan's Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed also said that the people who destroyed the temple should be made liable for cost incurred for the restoration.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's regional government and Auqaf department are ordered to start the work forthwith and apprise the court of progress within two weeks.
Hundreds of people on December 30 attacked and set ablaze the Shri Paramhans Ji Maharaj's Samadhi along with the Krishna Swara Mandir in Teri Village of Karak district.
The court issued the verdict after taking a suo motu cognizance of the attack on the place of worship.
The Supreme Court relied on the report submitted by a one-man commission, on the rights of minorities, which recommended a comprehensive investigation into the heinous incident.
The report recommended for strict monitoring on the entrants in the temple and for exemplary punishment for those who involved in the vandalism.
At least 14 people have been arrested in connection to the incident.
