Pakistan rejects claim of Mossad plot to assassinate Army chief Asim Munir

Pakistan has rejected claims that Israeli intelligence agency Mossad plotted to assassinate Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir during talks in Switzerland, calling the allegation "baseless fiction".

The claim was made by Brazilian journalist Pepe Escobar, who alleged that Pakistani intelligence had uncovered a plan to target Munir during negotiations on June 21.

Responding to the reports, veteran Pakistani journalist Kamran Khan quoted a senior security official as saying, "Absolutely rubbish and complete nonsense. Nothing of this sort occurred."

According to the official, the Swiss visit by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Munir proceeded without any security concerns, and neither Swiss nor U.S. security teams reported any threat.

No independent evidence has emerged to support the alleged assassination plot, and neither Israeli nor Pakistani authorities have publicly acknowledged such an incident.
