Tel Aviv: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened to turn Beirut and southern Lebanon into Gaza if Hezbollah opens a war-front against Israel, Bloomberg News reported.
Netanyahu’s threat comes as Israeli forces’ continuing attack wrought vast devastation in Gaza.
‘If Hezbollah decides to open an all-out war, then with its own hands it will turn Beirut and southern Lebanon, which are not far from here, into Gaza and Khan Younis,’ Netanyahu reportedly said.
The White House said on Thursday that President Joe Biden had spoken to both Netanyahu and King Abdullah II of Jordan about ‘the latest developments in Gaza’.
Biden reportedly shared concerns for the hostages in Gaza during his conversation with Netanyahu.
Netanyahu issued the threat during his visit to the headquarters of the Israel Defence Forces' northern command, according to the report.
Following its widespread attack on Gaza Strip, Israel is now focusing on the south of Gaza with troops entering Khan Younis.
The fire between Israel and Hezbollah is reportedly happening on a daily basis with the outfit expressing support to Hamas.
However, Hezbollah has not launched a ‘full-blown’ attack on Israel which helped the war not spreading to further areas.
