Jerusalem: In a Friday operation by the Israeli forces, three Palestinians were shot dead, and eight got injured in the occupied West Bank early on the day, Reuters reported citing the Palestinian Health Ministry.
An angry crowd had appeared before the hospital and chanted "God is Great", calling for revenge. Later they carried the three bodies and walked around the Jenin town in protest.
However, the Ministry did not say how the casualties occurred.
It was Palestinian media that reported, quoting witnesses, that the Israeli troops opened fire at a car in Jenin, a north West Bank town. The three passengers in the car died. Before that, n several video footage widely shared on social media, heavy gunfire sounds were caught. Another video featured a bullet-riddled car with bloodstains and people inspecting it.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military has not commented. But it is reportedly carrying regular overnight raids in Palestine-controlled areas of the West Bank, arresting suspected as well as wanted Palestinian militants. Many of the arrests have happened in Jenin, which houses many Palestinian militants. These militants have taken part in attacks on Israelis, killing 19 of them.
