New Delhi: As the stranded Indian are running from pillar to post, Indian embassy on Monday asked them to reach the railway station in Kyiv.
They will move further onward to the western regions of the war-ravaged nation, according to PTI.
"Weekend curfew lifted in Kyiv. All students are advised to make their way to the railway station for onward journey to the western parts.Ukraine Railways is putting special trains for evacuations," the embassy tweeted.
The sixth flight for the mission "Operation Ganga" to evacuate Indians in Ukraine has left for home with 240, according to
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
"Sixth #OperationGanga flight from Budapest. To Delhi with 240 Indian nationals," he tweeted.
Over 2000 Indians have already been evacuated from the warfront. More than 1000 of them reached home on charted flights from Hungry and Ukraine.
India's evacuation operation is now zeroing in on major conflict zones including Kharkiv and Sumy.
Indian national trapped in these regions will be taken out to the country's western regions. From there they will be taken across the border to Hungary, Romania, Poland and Slovakia.
"The Ministry of External Affairs, under the direct supervision of the External Affairs Minister, and the overall guidance of the prime minister is doing everything possible to make sure that the safety, security and the interests of our citizens in Ukraine are given the highest priority," Shringla said.
To help students reach Hungry, Romania and Poland, India on Friday set up camp offices in Lviv and Chernivtsi town in western Ukraine. As well as this, officials have been positioned at Zahony border post in Hungary, Shehyni-Medyka land border points in Poland, Vysne Nemecke in the Slovak Republic and Suceava transit point in Romania.
As Ukraine's airspace is closed off to traffic, India depends on land routes to take citizens out of the nation.
