Beijing: The Agriculture and Rural Affairs Ministry of China confirmed the African swine flu in two of its provinces, Sichuan and Hubei, which produce pork on a large scale.
The disease has been confirmed in Abei and Xingyang townships. While 38 pigs died of the disease in Sichuan, five died in Hubei. In Hubei, the disease reportedly spread from pigs brought illegally.
China has issued a warning following the confirmation of the disease. Yunnan province also had reported swine flu last week.
