London: A mass stabbing on a London-bound train on Saturday evening has left ten people injured, according to BBC.
Of those in hospital, nine have ‘life-threatening injuries’ and police have arrested two suspects.
The train was travelling from Doncaster in the northeast to London's King's Cross Station, the British Transport Police confirmed.
The incident occurred after the train, packed with passengers, left the Peterborough station at 7.30pm local time.
It is reported citing Sky News that wounded people ran through the train as stabbing started 10 minutes after the train left Peterborough.
Later, armed police pointed their weapons at a man holding a large knife and he was then tasered and restrained.
Pointing to the possibility of more victims, one witness claimed 12 people got injured.
It is reported citing an eyewitness, identified as Olly Foster, that when he heard people shouting ‘run, run’ he thought it was ‘night-after-Halloween prank’.
Another witness reportedly said there was ‘blood everywhere.’
During the chaos people hid in lavatories to escape attack and some got stamped on by others.
Sky News reported a witness as saying that a victim moving down the carriage was shouting , ‘They have got a knife; I have been stabbed.’
