Biden evacuated as a plane entered a restricted airspace

Washington: White House officials said President Biden and the first lady had been evacuated on Saturday from his beach home after a small aircraft flew over the president's home in Rehoboth Beach.

Officials made it clear the president was not in any danger after the aircraft flew into restricted airspace, according to The New York Times

The plane was later found to have crossed the security area by mistake and afterwards, both the president and the first lady returned to their home.

The plane breached the restricted area before 1p.m Saturday, according to the spokesman, Steve Kopek.

After its sighting on the sky, it was immediately escorted out of the restricted space, according to the Spokesman.

People in the area reportedly tweeted of seeing two military jets flying overhead at the time of seeing the errant aircraft.

Though details about President's emergency evacuation was not available, people noticed president's motorcade driving into local fire station.

The motorcade left the station a half-hour later alongside the commercial artery in Rehoboth Avenue was closed for traffic briefly, the report said.

The pilot of the small aircraft  was said to be ignorant of airspace restrictions in place as the president was present in Delaware.

The initial probe said that the pilot was not following the NOTAMS (Notice to Airmen) that was filed.

The United States Secret Service will be interviewing the plot.

Biden's $2.7 million beach home sits on the North Shores, a wealthy neigbourhood.

Biden uses the home for vacations and brief weekend visits.
