New Delhi: The instant messaging application WhatsApp is going to add more features to supplement audio messages on the platform on both. Although some of the features are available for iOS users, this time, Android users will also get them along with new features, The Indian Express reported.
As per WhatsApp's estimation, its users exchange an average of 7 billion voice messages per day, which justifies the introduction of new features on voice messaging.
According to TIE, the app is going to roll out six fresh features. The first one among them is the 'Out of Chat Playback'. This will enable users to listen to voice messages outside of the chat, helping them to multitask, read and respond to other messages while audio keeps playing.
'Pause or Resume Recording' is the second feature that helps users pause their recording and resume the process per their wish.
The third one, 'Waveform Visualisation,' introduces a visual representation of the sound the voice message hosts. This feature, already available for iOS and Android beta users, will help users follow the recording.
'Draft Preview' is the fourth feature that will enable users to save a draft voice record and listen to it before sending them. The fifth feature is 'Remember Playback'. After the user pauses while playing a voice message, he can start from where he left off when returning to the respective chat.
'Fast Playback on Forwarded Messages' is the sixth feature in the fresh additions. It enables users to play voice messages at 1.5x or 2x speeds if they prefer to listen to them faster, which is already available for regular messages.
The platform is about to roll out the features in the coming weeks; TIE reports and advises users to update the app to get them.
