San Fransico: WhatsApp, the messaging platform owned by Meta, has initiated rolling out the feature that enables users to search groups by entering a contact name on the Desktop version, IANS reported.
According to WABetaInfo, the feature appeared to some users after installing the latest WhatsApp Desktop update.
Users who have received the new feature through updates can get a list list of all recent groups in common with a contact by entering their name within the search bar.
The feature will help those users who connect to several groups on the app but do not remember the name of a group in common with a particular contact.
WABetaInfo says that the feature will reach more people in the coming days.
Last month, it was reported that the app was working on a mute shortcut for group chats for a future update of WhatsApp Desktop beta. The mute shortcut is expected to display at the top of group chats. It will allow users to disable notifications of messages received in the group.
