Twitter launches 'Super Follows' feature to help creators monetise tweets

Twitter has launched its long-waited feature 'Super Follows' that allows creators to monetise their exclusive content.

"Today we are excited to introduce Super Follows, a new way for people to earn monthly revenue by sharing subscriber-only content with their followers on Twitter,"  said Esther Crawford, Staff Product Manager, in a blog post on September 1.

With this new feature, users can create an extra level of conversation on Twitter (sharing bonus Tweets and more!) to interact authentically with their most engaged followers.

Creating Super Follows content is for anyone who brings their unique perspectives and personalities to Twitter to drive the public conversation, including activists, journalists, musicians, content curators, writers, gamers, astrology enthusiasts, skincare and beauty experts, comedians, fantasy sports experts, and more, the company said.

Creators can set a subscription fee of $2.99, $4.99, or $9.99. They can create special content for their most engaged followers and give them special access to unfiltered thoughts, early previews, and subscriber-only conversations.

For now, the new feature will give users access to subscriber-only Tweets. In the future, more features like Super Follows-only Spaces, newsletters, the choice to opt-in for different subscription tiers, and subscribing anonymously will be introduced.
