Hyderabad: The Civil Aviation Ministry on Friday gave permission to the Telangana government to use drones for the experimental delivery of vaccines within the visual line of sight. However, the ministry did not clarify the name of the vaccine which would be part of this experimental delivery.
The ministry tweeted that it has granted "conditional exemption from Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Rules, 2021 to Govt of Telangana for conducting experimental delivery of vaccines using drones within Visual Line of Sight (VLOS) range." The exemption shall be valid for a year or until further orders.
