New Delhi: Leading tech companies are engaged in a race over Artificial Intelligence research as the technology is showing signs of leading every aspect of human life in the years to come.
Signalling greater competition, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced a new AI research team which will be led by Sam Altman, the recently ousted CEO of OpenAI and its former president and co-founder, Greg Brockman.
‘We're extremely excited to share the news that Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, together with colleagues, will be joining Microsoft to lead a new advanced AI research team. We look forward to moving quickly to provide them with the resources needed for their success,’ Nadella reportedly wrote on X.
Billionaire Elon Musk quickly has taken a dig at the announcement saying ‘Now they will have to use Teams!’
Musk is a known critic of the Microsoft's control over OpenAI, according to NDTV.
Musk’s response comes after Altman and Brockman were laid off from OpenAi during a Google Meet.
Altman, who last year emerged with the launch of artificial intelligence chatbot, wrote on social media platform X that ‘The mission continues’.
OpenAI's board of directors on Friday decided to end Altman's tenure as CEO, sparking criticism from employees and investors, according to NDTV.
