Casio launches smartwatch powered by Google's Wear OS

Tokyo: Casio, the Japanese electronics giant, launched the G-Squad Pro smartwatch GSW H1000, powered by Google's Wear OS. The watch is loaded with a variety of Google apps and services designed for a smartwatch. Users will have access to Google Assistant and could track important activity metrics with Google Fit. They could access Google Play for more apps and have essential information at a glance, including messages, phone calls, notifications, agenda, weather forecast etc.

"The new smartwatch is built with all the toughness of a G-SHOCK, with shock resistance and 200-meter water resistance. It is also the first G-SHOCK smartwatch to run on Wear OS by Google," the company said in a statement.

"As the flagship product of the sports-focused G-Squad line, the GSW-H1000 is great for use in a wide range of athletic settings-from activities like running, indoor workouts, road biking, and swimming to more extreme pursuits like surfing and snowboarding," it added.

The GSW-H1000 have a perfect design for wearability with a band that provides flexibility and durability. Besides shock and water resistance, the watch includes a microphone, charging terminal etc. The thick glass over the display for the 200-meter water resistance doesn't impair its smooth and responsive touch sensitivity.
