Apple unveils latest MacBook powered by a brand new chip

Apple, on Tuesday, unveiled a new lineup of Mac computers which includes the Macbook Pro 13 inch, Mac Book Air and Mac Mini. The devices are powered by Apple's newly launched silicon chip called the M1.

Apple claims that the M1 chip is "the most powerful chip it has ever created". The processor is based on 5nm architecture and has 16 billion transitors.

MacBook Pro is the most premium device in this lineup, it's powered by the M1 chip which replaces the old Intel x86 chip. The device supports a 6K Apple Pro XDR display, has a touch id for improved security and comes with a new "studio quality microphones" for better sound recording.

Macbook Air is the first computer to be powered by the new M1 chip, the 8-core processor in the device is believed to be 3.5 times faster than the previous generations, the GPU is also expected to be 5 times faster. Battery life on Macbook Air is about 15 hours.

The Mac MiniMini is only desktop setup which is currently running on the the new M1 chip, CPU of the system is believed to be three times faster than the old versions, Mac Mini also comes with a wifi 6 for wireless connection. Apple claims that the system is capable of running a 6K video output with ease.

The new Mac devices are expected to be on Sale in India from November 17, MacBook Pro is priced at 1,22,900 for the 256 GB variant and 1,42,900 for the 512 GB one. The MacBook Air is priced at 92,000 and 1,17,900 for 256 and 512 GB variants respectively. The Macbook is selling at 64,900 Indian rupees.
