Apple releases iOS 15, iPadOS 15 and watchOS 8

Apple has released the new iOS 15, iPadOS 15 and watchOS update to the general public on September 20.

The new iPadOS 15 introduce features that take the versatility of the iPad even further, with a multitasking experience that is even more intuitive, with new widget layouts for the Home Screen, more ways to capture thoughts with Quick Note, and FaceTime updates for more natural video calls, according to Apple's official website.

All iPad Pro 12.9-inch and iPad Pro 11-inch models, as well as the iPad Pro 10.5-inch and iPad Pro 9.7-inch, will receive iPadOS 15. It will also be available for the standard iPad (5th generation and up), iPad mini 4, 5th generation, and iPad 6th generation. The new iPad mini, which Apple just released, clearly runs the new iPadOS. The new OS will be available for Apple iPad Air 2nd generation and higher.

The WatchOS has included new workout types, updates to cycling, and the new Mindfulness app will expand support for physical and mental well-being,

The new update has also enhanced Wallet and Home apps on the watch. "The redesigned Photos app, new watch faces, and tools in Messages provide customers with more ways to connect with loved ones," Apple said in a press release.

Apple Watch Series 3 and higher will be supported by the watchOS 8 updates. The latest Watch Series 7 will, of course, run watchOS 8 out of the box. Users will also need an iPhone 6s or later with iOS 15 or later to use watchOS 8.

Apple had announced the release of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 at the unveiling event for its iPhone 13 and new iPad series last week.
