Tongyi Qianwen, an AI large language model comparable to GPT that Alibaba Group Holding revealed on Tuesday, would soon be incorporated into all of the company's business applications.
It will initially be incorporated into DingTalk, Alibaba's internal messaging software, and may be used to write emails, summarise meeting notes, and create business proposals. Additionally, it will be included in Tmall Genie, Alibaba's voice assistant, Reuters reported.
"We are at a technological watershed moment driven by generative AI and cloud computing, and businesses across all sectors have started to embrace intelligence transformation to stay ahead of the game," CEO Daniel Zhang said in a statement.
Trading in the morning saw a 3% increase in Alibaba shares.
Tongyi Qianwen will be made accessible to Alibaba Cloud's clients so they can create their own unique large language models.
Since the release of the ChatGPT chatbot sensation by Microsoft-backed OpenAI late last year, interest in generative AI, which learns how to take actions from past data to produce new content, has skyrocketed worldwide.
Other companies, like Alphabet's Google and Baidu, have since marketed their AI algorithms and created comparable chatbots.
Based on the Tongyi pre-trained model framework, which integrates diverse AI models, Tongyi Qianwen is a proprietary pre-trained model from Alibaba.
