San Francisco: Aimed at taking on abusive messages, WhatsApp, the messaging platform owned by Meta will soon roll out a new feature that gives group admins the ability to delete messages for everyone.
WABetaInfo reported that the platform is releasing the new update through the Google Play beta program, bringing it up to version 2.22.17.12, which will allow group admins to delete any message for everyone.
The report mentioned that if you are a group admin and you try to delete an incoming message and you see the option "delete for everyone", it means the feature is available.
When you delete a message for everyone, sent by another group participant, other people can always see that you have deleted that message since your name shows up within the chat bubble.
Recently in June, more than 22 lakh accounts were banned by the platform in India in compliance with the new IT Rules of 2021. More than 19 lakh bad accounts were banned in the country in May.
632 complaint reports were also received by the messaging platform in the country in June, and 64 accounts were "actioned".
