PV Sindhu beats Line Kjaersfeldt to win second title of the season at Hylo Open

PV Sindhu clinched her second title of the season on Sunday, defeating Denmark's Line Kjaersfeldt 21-12, 21-14 in the Hylo Open final in Germany.

The Indian shuttler sealed the title in straight games, completing an unbeaten campaign without dropping a single game in the tournament.

The victory comes a week after Sindhu finished runner-up at the French Open, where she lost to world No. 1 An Se Young. The two-time Olympic medallist had earlier won the Japan Open in July.

Sindhu took control of the opening game after a closely fought start. Kjaersfeldt kept pace with the Indian until 5-5, but Sindhu moved ahead 11-8 at the interval. She maintained her advantage with sharp returns and attacking play to take the game 21-12.

The second game was more competitive. Kjaersfeldt briefly closed the gap to 7-6 after trailing 7-3, but Sindhu regained control and led 11-7 at the break. She extended her advantage to 19-11 before closing out the match 21-14.

Sindhu began her campaign with a 21-10, 21-10 win over Prakriti Bharath of the UAE. She followed it with a 21-9, 21-6 victory over France's Rosy Oktavia Pancasari to reach the quarter-finals.

She then defeated Germany's Amalie Schulz 21-12, 21-10 in the last eight before overcoming compatriot Anmol Kharb 21-13, 21-16 in the semi-finals.

The Hylo Open title adds to Sindhu's strong run on the international circuit following her appearance in the French Open final.
