ISL 2021-22 : Kerala's unbeaten run comes to an end.

On Sunday, Bengaluru FC ended Kerala Blasters' 10-game unbeaten streak with a 1-0 win at Tilak Maidan Stadium, ending Kerala's unbeaten run of 10 matches.

Roshan put the Bengaluru FC on top in the 56th minute with a sumptuous free kick following a barren first half. With 20 points from 14 games, Bengaluru FC stands fourth ahead of Kerala FC in third place with 20 points from 12 games.

As Kerala returned to action after more than two weeks, they appeared rusty in the early exchanges, with Bengaluru appearing more likely to break the deadlock. A poorly cleared clearance by Jorge Diaz almost led to a goal, but an alert Nishu Kumar cleared the ball off the line. Danish Farooq and Prince Ibara also went close to scoring but were unable to keep their efforts on target. In a cagey first half, both defences kept things tight as both outfits cancelled each other out.

It was an individual act of brilliance that gave Bengaluru their first goal in the second half.

Roshan, who has been superb throughout the season, curled a delightful free-kick from just outside the box and sent it past a diving Prabhsukhan Gill.

Despite their best efforts, Kerala lacked the cutting edge that had been evident in the final third this season.

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu made a low save from Harmanjot Khabra's volley, and moments later Adrian Luna was set up by Diaz to shoot from the left wing, but he shot wide of the goal.

Bengaluru had an opportunity to double their advantage, but Cleiton Silva had his shot tipped away by Gill for a corner. Udanta then set up Bruno Silva but the strike flew over the bar as Bengaluru pushed for a 2-0 win.
