'It's Lord Ram...': Hindutva extremists attack Mohammed Siraj on X

After India's victory in the Twenty20 World Cup cricket match, pacer Mohammad Siraj posted an X post praising God. Siraj captioned the picture of the Indian team members lifting the World Cup on X, saying, 'Thank you, Almighty Allah'. That was enough for extreme Hindutva X handlers to spring to action, attacking him with problematic comments, including mentioning a mention of religion-wise representation in the team.

A Hindutva X handle commented that it wasn't Allah who helped India to win the World Cup, and even without a single Muslim player, India won the World Cup.

Hindutva activist Chandan Sharma asked that if Allah is almighty, why did Pakistan, Afghanistan or Bangladesh not win the title? He said that Mohammad Azharuddin was a cricketer, but he joined Congress soon after his retirement. Wise, Yusuf Pathan was also a cricketer, and he immediately joined TMC after retirement. Sharma asked then how he could believe that Muhammad Siraj was theirs.

Another user wrote that Asaduddin Owaisi, who raised the slogans of Jai Palestine and Allahu Akbar in the Parliament, and Muhammad Siraj, who gave credit for the victory to Allah, are clearly loyal to their religion. As far as he is concerned, Lord Rama is the almighty, and with the blessings of Lord Rama, India won the match. He went on to say that there is no one greater than Lord Rama. A third user commented that it was Team India's victory and not Allah's.

In the final bash between India and South Africa at Barbados on Saturday, India beat South Africa by seven runs to win their second ICC Men's T20 World Cup title and the first ICC title in 11 years. The last title was ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.

After the match, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced their retirement from T20I matches. On Sunday, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also announced his retirement.
