5th Australia Test: India makes significant recovery on Day 2

Sydney: India made a significant recovery on Day 2 of the 5th Test against Australia on Saturday after the former took all of the Australians out for 181. Also, Rishabh became the man of the day, scoring 61 off 33 balls in a T20 fashion. At stumps, India posted a lead of 145/6, and Ravindra Jadeja (8*) and Washington Sundar (6*) were at the crease.

Pant was in a different mood after hitting the second-fastest fifty for India in Test cricket after she reached the mark in 29 balls. The visitors decided to go aggressive, which was evident from Pant’s performance.

The post-lunch session of the day was dominated by Indian bowlers after Mohammed Siraj (3/51), Prasidh Krishna (3/42), and Nitish Reddy (2/32), put efforts to dilute the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, who had left the field for scans due to an unspecified injury. The trio clamped down Australian advancement on Day 2 to 181 for all out after India’s first innings ended at 185 on Day 1.
