Where are you on the man on Mars mission? Elon Musk asked

New Delhi: In 2011 Elon Musk took the world by surprise promising to put a man on Mars in ten years.

A decade later, curiosity has got the better of his fans to know more about the promise.

Musk never stops saying about making humanity a "multi-planetary species" setting up a colony on the Mars.

Wall Street Journal in an interview in April 2011 asked him when he would deliver the promise.

Musk said it would happen in the best case in 10 years and in the worst case 15 to 20 years.

Reports say his space engineering company SpaceX  is working on a prototype rocket to carry the crew and cargo to Mars.

A decades since the promise, his 2011 interview surfaced on internet just as a screenshot of Musk's quote went viral.

Musk's quote reportedly received a flood of comments with many asking what happened to the 2011 promise.

It is obvious people have trust in Musk's promise, considering the trajectory of success in his other projects.

One user on Twitter assumed that covid might have slowed things down and liberally gave Musk another 5 more years to complete the project.

Despite SpaceX progressed a lot in developing Mars rocket, humans are nowhere near to land on Mars.

Musk earlier said that 2029 would be the latest date humans first stepping on the Red Planet.

Meanwhile, American space agency NASA is planning its human mission to Mars in the 2030s.

If Musk's projects gets delays further, it will more likely to coincide with NASA's trip.
