Astronaut Anil Menon shares video of Cygnus departure from SpaceX Dragon

Astronaut Anil Menon has shared a video on X showing the departure of the Cygnus spacecraft, captured from the window of a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft.

The video offers a view of the spacecraft’s release and departure from the perspective of those aboard Dragon.

Menon said the footage showed the Cygnus departure on the previous day and clarified that it had been sped up 10 times.

“Our view of the Cygnus departure yesterday from the SpaceX Dragon window. Video sped up 10x. The release and departure is slow and controlled,” Menon wrote while sharing the video on October 10.

Despite the faster playback, Menon emphasised that the actual release and departure process was slow and controlled. The footage provides a glimpse of the operation as seen from inside the spacecraft.

The video drew appreciative reactions from social media users, with several expressing their fascination with the view.

“One of the reasons I love space technology,” one user commented. Another described the footage as “Amazing”, while a third wrote, “Such a beautiful video.”
