Pro-Khalistan graffiti on metro station walls: Delhi police files FIR

New Delhi: Delhi Police has lodged an FIR against unidentified miscreants for defacing various metro stations in the national capital with Pro-Khalistan graffiti ahead of the G20 Summit on September 8-10.

The derogatory graffiti slogans challenging the sovereignty of India appeared on Sunday at more than seven stations and near a government school as well.

A senior police officer stated that upon receiving the information, they promptly dispatched teams to each metro station.

The stations where the graffiti appeared include ShivaJi Park, MadiPur, Paschim Vihar, Udyog Nagar, Maharaja Surajmal Stadium; Punjabi Bagh, and Nangloi Metro Stations. The accused also defaced the Government Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya Nangloi with slogans, police said, adding that the accused also mentioned the name of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) along with the slogans.

A police source said that pro-Khalistani supporters may be behind these graffiti.

“Modi India’s committed genocide of Sikhs, Khalistan Referundum Jindabad, Delhi Banega Khalistan, etc. were sprayed on the walls,” the police said.

The police said that they are examining the CCTV footage from nearby areas and metro stations to identify the culprits. The police have formed multiple teams to investigate the matter.
