Posting the picture, user RATNISH captioned, "Ambani ji ke party mein tissue paper ki jagah 500 ke notes hote hain". Translation: At Ambanis' party, Rs. 500 notes are served instead of tissue papers.
The dessert is Delhi's famous "daulat ki chaat", and the picture is from a Delhi restaurant called "Indian Accent", and the banknotes were fake, NDTV reports, meaning the Twitter post was just a joke.
Ambani threw no party, offering banknotes as tissues to guests.
Daulat ki chaat originated in north India it is available in Old Delhi, where people crowd to have it. The dish is a light, airy melt-in-mouth souffle-like dessert made of milk foam, NDTV writes. It is topped with pistachios, khoya, and powdered sugar.
However, the dish is only available for a couple of months a year, that is, the winter season when the milk is thick and foamy, in the correct form to prepare it.
The post gathered 190k views as well as many comments. Some realised the joke in the post, while some came to explain that the banknotes were not real.
