Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has solidified the decision to resume offline classes for classes 10 and 12, beginning January 1. Education Minister S Suresh Kumar has sent a formal letter to all the district in charges to rest any doubts on the subject.
In addition to this, Vidyagama, the continuous learning program for rural students will also resume on January 1. These decisions were made taking into consideration the opinion of the Coronavirus Technical Advisory Committee (TAC). The TAC agreed with the idea of partially reopening schools, with sufficient precautions taken to maintain safety.
The government has taken this decision partly due to the steady drop in the number of daily COVOD-19 cases throughout the state, which has now dropped below one thousand.
The Education Minister, in his letter, has given the assurance that schools and Vidyagama are resuming only after taking sufficient precautions and measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
