On January 20th, Donald Trump, soon after being sworn in as the President of the United States, took unprecedented actions in the first few hours of his administration, leading to a major global crisis. In his inaugural address, he firmly declared that his second term would be based on populism based on radical racism. Immediately following this declaration, he signed over 50 executive orders that pushed both America and the world to the brink, validating his statement. It is no exaggeration to say that Trump implemented all the major points he raised during the election campaign and in debates within the first 48 hours of his administration. Without much discussion, the retrograde ideas that Trump and the Republican Party had previously put forward on issues such as immigration control, citizenship, climate change, cooperation with the United Nations, and gender identity have been implemented. It is easy for anyone to see that Trump's decisions will lead to far-reaching consequences and various uncertainties. To completely end immigration, he even revoked the 'birthright citizenship law'. Simultaneously, he declared a military emergency on the Mexican border to prevent refugees and imprison them; withdrew from the Paris Agreement, which was designed to combat climate change; ended relations with the World Health Organization; and recognized settlements in the West Bank of Palestine. In addition to all this, Trump's frenzied administration has also prepared the ground for a unique global trade war by increasing import duties to suppress any country that poses a threat to American dominance in any area.
It is clear to see that the extreme right-wing ideology, often termed neo-Nazism, that has emerged in the new millennium, is being directly put into practice by Trump. It is no coincidence that tech magnates like Elon Musk, who are known to sympathize with the extreme right, have saluted Trump's declaration with a Nazi salute, while many of the new Hitlers in Europe have been present to witness this. This oath-taking ceremony was a strong signal that Musk, Trump, and the extreme right-wing groups in the European Union and Latin America are now controlling the world. This ceremony, marked by chants of racism and invasions, was also a warning of the impending dangers. Many experiences have shown the world the pain and suffering of asylum seekers. Modern democracy dictates that other countries should accept refugees and grant them citizenship when they are forced to flee due to war, natural disasters, or famine. The same principle applies to immigration. However, in Trump's America, the situation is quite different. On one hand, they are imposing strict controls on immigrants; on the other, they are creating laws to turn existing immigrants into refugees. Thus Trump's policies are rooted in racism and exclusion, not inclusion.
The consequences of these regressive policies are not limited to the American continent. They are rippling across the Atlantic and Pacific, affecting the entire globe. Cutting ties with the World Health Organization cannot be seen as merely an economic sanction. It's a cruel act that could lead to the deaths of crores. Without US financial support, the WHO's operations will be severely disrupted. As a result it will be giant pharma research corporates like Gavi and the Bill Gates Foundation who will likely dictate the WHO's policies in the future. The world is grappling with the devastating impacts of climate change and global warming. To overcome these challenges, we must reduce carbon emissions, the primary driver of rising global temperatures, and transition to sustainable development models powered by alternative energy sources. The Paris Agreement, designed to curb carbon emissions, was a crucial step in this direction. America's withdrawal from this agreement undermines global efforts to combat climate change. When countries impose taxes on others to alleviate their economic crises, international economic cooperation suffers. Moreover, it can lead to trade wars. In short, the potential dangers posed by Trump's second term are by no means small. If his initial actions in the first few hours have had such a profound impact, the next four years could be even more catastrophic.
