Indian officer, two others killed in clash with PLA

New Delhi:  Following what is termed as a “violent face off” with PLA, Indian army suffered multiple casualties on Monday night, leaving an Indian officer and two others dead.

However, there were casualties on the other side as well, reports say.

The first Indian casualties since 1975 took place, according to army, at a time when de-escalation process was underway in the Galwan valley.

Talks between military commanders of both armies are underway at the site to stabilize the situation.   

The incident took place along the contested Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.

In Delhi,Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in the presence of Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and senior officials reviewed the situation after the clash on the LAC.
