Ballari: A video surfaced on Tuesday showed mass burial of those died of COVID in the area inviting criticism over disrespectful handling of the mortal remains.                   

Bellari reported 773 cases in the last three months reporting a total of 23 deaths.

The health department faced big challenge from increasing cases and deaths; of them 12 deaths were reported on Sunday.

The medical officers are seen dumping the body into a pit, before the pits were filled with mud using an earth mover.

The video shot on Monday went viral on the social media raising moral questions about the handling of the dead.

The health department officials reportedly said the burials had to be done as quickly as possible.
