Forces keep off politics, work on govt directive: new CDS Rawat

New Delhi: The new CDS General Bipin Rawat on Wednesday said the Indian armed forces stay far away from politics.

His response came following criticism of his comments on leadership in relation to anti-CAA protests.

Rawat said the force work as per orders of the government in office.

Opposition parties including Congress questioned the position of CDS itself

When asked about the allegations of armed forces getting politicized, he said “we stay away, we stay far away from politics”, and added that the forces work on the directives of the government in power.
