Srinagar: Ghalib, 18-year-old son of hanged Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, could not be happier. Because, he is now a proud possessor of an Aadhaar Card.
“At least I have one card to show. I am happy,” he was quoted as saying.
Staying up with his maternal grandfather, Ghulam Mohammad and mother Tabassum, Ghalib looks forward to graduate in medical science, keeping in focus the medical entrance exam NEET scheduled on May 5.
Ghalib says what he wishes next is an Indian passport, which will enable him to pursue studies abroad in case he doesn’t qualify here.
Ghalib says he wants to fulfil his father's dream of becoming a doctor. Afzal Guru couldn’t pursue his medical career at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences.
Ghalib lauds his mother for protecting him from militancy.
Afzal Guru was hanged on February 9, 2013, after being convicted in the attack on Parliament on December 13, 2001.
