Centre plans mega reforms in medical education sector

New Delhi:  The Union Government is all set to bring in a key bill in Lok Sabha aiming at sweeping changes in medical education.

National Medical Commission (NMC) Bill, introduced but lapsed in 2017 after dissolution of the 16th Lok Sabha, would be reintroduced shortly.

The draft bill is awaiting approval from the Law Ministry, according to an official.

When the bill first introduced, it had the provision of a ‘bridge course’ allowing practitioners of alternative medicines to pursue allopathy.
