UAE launches Dh15 million initiative to enhance women leaders

The UAE has announced a Dh15 million grant to support the development of women leaders by providing access to knowledge resources, support systems and a development network. This initiative aims to advance women's leadership skills and development across the country.

The grant will fund the Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi Chair in Women’s Leadership, established by the NAMA Women Advancement Establishment (NAMA) in partnership with the American University of Sharjah (AUS). This is the first endowed chair in the UAE dedicated to women's leadership and development, named in honour of Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi. She is the wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of NAMA, recognized for her contributions to advancing women's education.

Sheikha Jawaher emphasized the importance of the initiative.

She said, " When we pledged to support and empower female students and researchers around the world, we held great confidence in the exceptional women who are passionate about giving back to their communities."

Sheikha Jawaher also highlighted that the partnership with AUS marks a significant milestone in Sharjah’s efforts to advance women in the educational field.

"We will continue to promote initiatives that raise awareness about the benefits of education for women and persist in building and advancing research facilities," added Sheikha.
